She attended the public schools of Como Elementary, Dunbar Middle and was a graduate of Dunbar High School (Class of 1974). She went off to further her education at Texas Woman’s University where she pledged Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. She then went to East Texas State (Texas A&M[1]Commerce) where she received her bachelor’s degree and went back to Texas Woman’s University and received her master’s in library sciences and business administration.

At an early age she professed her faith in Jesus Christ and joined Stranger’s Rest Baptist Church. She later joined Mount Olive Baptist Church in Arlington, TX where she was a dedicated member. At Mount Olive, she served faithfully as a choir member and a member of the visitor registration committee.

She was blessed to have a wonderful daughter in 1990, who later gave birth to her grandbabies in 2016 and 2022. Miss. Miller worked for The University of Texas at Arlington where she was the lead librarian. She later began working for the City of Fort Worth Library Services as a children’s librarian until she retired in November 2019. She was also a member of the Negro Business & Professional Women’s Club.

As a result of her generous spirit, pleasant personality, love for children and huge passion for reading she was loved by all who came to know her.
