Paul D. Knox, Sr.

Paul Dennis Knox, Sr. Was born on June 20, 1945, to the late Clarence Knox and Essline Savoy Knox in Beaumont, TX.  He was educated in the Beaumont Independent School District and was a graduate of Charlton-Pollard High School Class of 1964. He was employed as a Truck Driver with Joe Guillory Trucking Services, for over 30 years, until his health failed in March, 2001.

Paul met and fell in love with the late Jo Ann Alfred Knox and they were married on December 9, 1967. Two children, Essline Knox and Paul D. Knox, Jr., were born to this union.

Paul gave his life to Christ at an early age;  he rededicated his life in March, 1988 and was a faithful member of Christian Church of Port Arthur, in Port Arthur, TX. 

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence & Essline Savoy Knox; sisters, Ella Mae Hawkins and Katherine Richardson; brothers-in-law, John Edward Hawkins, Sr.  and Leroy Savoie; nephew, John Edward Hawkins, Jr.  and his children’s mother, Jo Ann Alfred Knox.

He leaves to cherish his memory, daughter, Essline Knox, son and daughter-in-law, Paul Jr. and Brenda Knox, grandson, Paul Knox, III.  One sister, Sally Savoie; brothers-in-law, Johnny Alfred, Jr. (Glenda Faye), Ronald Alfred (Glenda Kay) and Jack Charm; sister-in-law, Mary Alfred Cary.  Two nieces, Katherine Savoie and Kimberly Savoie; nephew, Richard Hawkins; great-nephew, Xavyair Washington, great-niece, Alma Washington and a host of other relatives.

He also leaves to cherish his memory, five close friends that he considered as his family: Samuel Juneau, Sr., Landry “Sonny” Wilkerson, Pam Rocquemore, Kathy Ofori and Shellian Graham.
