On Friday, September 13, 2019, Darlene Waggoner, a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt, passed away suddenly at the age of 68 years. Darlene will forever be remembered by her daughters, Shalonda, Tameka and Georgina; and siblings, Karen Robinson and Timothy Mitchell.
Darlene was born in a small town called Lawrence, Texas, five miles from Terrell, where she was raised and attended grade school. She attended college at El Centro College and Prairie View A&M University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in education. Shortly after graduation, she began her teaching career, where she spent 35-plus years in the Terrell, Wilmer Hutchins and Dallas Independent School Districts.
In her lifetime of service to the church, Darlene served on the hospitality board and choir, and as a pianist. She was a faithful member of Greater Providence Baptist Church since 2011.
Her infectious laugh and beautiful smile will always be a lasting memory in our hearts.
Darlene will always be remembered as a mother of three, grandmother of four, and great-grandmother of one, with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

I would like to offer my condolences to Mrs. Waggoner's family. I hired her to be one of my teacher's at Wilmer Academy and she was an absolute joy. She gave our student's her very best and they loved her for it. I could always rely on her to be there and be flexible enough to fill in wherever she was needed. I loved her smile and her personality. As an administrator, I wished that all of my staff members could share in her attributes. Rest on Mrs. Waggoner, you were a jewel. May God bless and comfort your family and friends always.
This was my very best friend. We grew up together in Terrell Texas. For 50 yrs we loved each other. She will leave a void in my heart. Darlene hope to see you in heaven. God bless our friendship. Your friend Irene Brewster
Praying for the Family. I know that she was a great MOM and Grandmother to Georgina and her sweet son. God is with you. Peace and Love
