Bennie Anthony Lacy (Andy) was born March 1, 1966 in Dugway, Utah to Margaret and Bennie Lacy. Bennie was confirmed and baptized at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Tooele, Utah where he participated in church youth activities and Alter duties. He attended elementary, junior high and high school in the Tooele County School District. He graduated from Tooele High School in 1984 and attended Weber State College now Weber State University during 1984 and 1985. While attending Weber State College, Bennie was a member of Men’s Basketball Team.
From an early age, Bennie was a professional sports enthusiast. He participated in organized sports. He was awarded a One on One basketball state championship while attending Tooele Junior High School. Bennie was a Little League Baseball all star and a starter on the Tooele High School varsity basketball team. In addition to athletics, Bennie was part of the Tooele High School Band as an alto saxophone player. As a youth, he enjoyed playing electric and stat-o-matic football games and collecting professional baseball cards.
Before returning to college and earning a Bachelors degree in computer engineering from Devry University, Bennie worked in diverse professions including park and recreation services, light industrial, culinary arts and transportation.
Throughout his life, Bennie continued his enthusiasm for learning history, geography, horticulture and strongly embraced garden to table cuisine.
Bennie passed away on May 31, 2018. He is preceded in death by his father, Bennie and daughter Taleesha. Those remaining to cherish his memories include his mother, Margaret, sisters Karen, Cheryl and Deirdra, brother Michael, niece Paris, son Tyrese and a host of cousins and friends.
