~~Bettie Ruth Chambers Brown began her life socially and spiritually on December 15, 1936. Born to the parentage of Johnnie Chambers and Lurlee Lane Chambers in Mansfield, Louisiana.
Bettie accepted Christ and an early age and joined the Corinth Baptist Church.  She joined the Greater St. James Baptist Church and later united with the Allen Chapel Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Levi Jones, were she loved.  She was a very active and faithful member serving on Usher Board#1 and the day mission.
Bettie graduated from Desoto Parish Training School in 1955 and she furthered her education attending Grambling State University.  In 1960 she moved to Dallas, Texas.
Bettie met and united in holy matrimony to R.C. Brown and to this union three children were born, Robert Charles, Jacqueline and Gwendolyn Brown.
She did not know how many lives she would touch but, she touched more than she would know. Her smile was infectious and her personality filled with passion and vibrancy.

Condolences for Bettie Brown

Julie Jarmon of Dothan, Ala. posted on 11/30/-1

I pray everyone is safe through this terrible storm, Harvey. I would like to offer my condolences to the Brown family. 81 years is quite an accomplishment according to the Bible (Psalm 90:10) and I know Ms. Bettie has left you with many precious memories and will be greatly missed. Hopefully scripture will give you comfort because our loving heavenly Father, Jehovah God (Psalm 83:18) is promising us he will do away with man's worst enemy, death. This is found for us at Rev. 21: 4; "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore." For more comforting scriptures please visit: It has given me hope, strengthened my faith and helped me find the answer to Why? I know it will do the same for you. God's kingdom that Jesus taught us to pray for at Matthew 6: 9, 10 will bring about these wonderful promises here on earth, (Psalm 37:9-11, 29) including the resurrection. John 6: 40 tells us: "For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who recognizes the Son and exercises faith in him should have everlasting life, and I will resurrect him on the last day." Also, Titus 1: 2 tells us this promise of a resurrection: "is based on a hope of the everlasting life that God, who cannot lie, promised long ago. (John 5:28, John 11:23-25, Acts 24:15) Isaiah 26:19 "Your dead will live......And the earth will let those powerless in death come to life." Isaiah 25:8 "He will swallow up death forever. For Jehovah himself has spoken it." This is a wonderful promise made to us by our heavenly father and I pray it brings you comfort and hope. Jehovah invites you to throw all your burdens on him and he will sustain you in your time of grief. Psalm 34:18 Again, I offer my sincere condolences to the family. Feel free to contact me at my email address: [email protected] I pray it will bring you comfort to please watch this beautiful video (song 144) entitled "Keep Your Eyes on the Prize"

I was saddened to hear about the death of Bettie Brown. I can't begin to imagine how difficult this time must be for her family during this time. I remember Betty as a warm and loving person, and know this loss will leave a great hole in their hearts. Betty was always so helpful and kind to me. I remember the time we were co-worker at Texas Instruments. I cherish those memories and hope just knowing her will bring a smile to your face even in this time of sorrow. Families are strong and capable. Even though it seems impossible right now, I know you will find a way to get through this. May the outpouring of love you receive serves as a reminder to you and your family of how much she was loved by all who knew her.
