Obituary of George Paul Davis

George Paul (Creep) Davis was born February 20, 1948 to the parentage of Mr. and Mrs. Ardell and Louise Davis, along with six older siblings. He received his early education from St. Peters Private School and the following schools in Dallas Independent School District: Colonial Elementary, John Henry Brown Middle School, James Madison and L. G. Pinkston High Schools. At Pinkston HS, George excelled academically and he was the President of the Class of 1966. Creep was also a member of the Mighty Vikings basketball team at Pinkston. He received his secondary education from Tyler Junior College. George accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age by Rev. Earnest C. Estell at St. John Baptist Church. Later, he united with New Friendship Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorage of Rev. Johnny A. McGee where he faithfully served as a Trustee. He also served on the Deacon Board for many years. On January 20, 1973, George united in holy matrimony to Hula E. Jeffrie and they remained faithfully together for forty-seven years. George and Hula shared two children and three children. He was employed by Sprint and Delta Airlines. While employed at Delta, Creep organized various international bowling tournaments. As a hobby, he also bowled locally, throughout the state, and the country. George was preceded in death by both parents, an infant son, Kevin Paul, and five of his six siblings. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Hula E. Jeffrie-Davis, two children, Delonda Davis-Burkhalter (James) and Delvin P. Davis, three grandchildren, Jaile and James Burkhalter and Abigail Davis; one sister, Lillian Bacon, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
